Om El Almira

(Om El Al Azeem × *Alamina)
Grey Filly , Born 2016

This filly holds my heartstrings because of her very existence. Her dam Alamina was bred by Janow Podlaski when Om El Bellissimo stood at stud there. As payment for the lease we were able to chose one filly.  Sigi went to Poland two times and after careful consideration chose Alamina to come home to Om El Arab.  It was the first time in 25 years that we have added a new female line to our breeding program. Sigi LOVED Alamina and was so looking forward to the foal that she was carrying by US Reserve National Champion Stallion, Om El Al Azeem.  She missed the birth of this gorgeous girl by just 8 days, but I trust that she can see how beautiful she is from the Heavens above.

This filly is for Sigi, for Poland and for the future.

Perspectives by Janina: Reflecting on Lenita and Sigi

(Pictured left to right: Lenita, Sigi and Marietta Salas of Ses Planes) What an interesting and uplifting exercise it is to contemplate the lives of two of the most influential breeders of our time: Lenita Perroy and Sigi Siller.   My mother Sigi founded Om El Arab in 1970 in the Black Forest region of Germany.  My mother and father imported 18 mares from Spain and three horses from Egypt as the foundation of the Om El Arab breeding program.
