Om El Shaina

(Carmargue × *Estopa)
Grey Mare , Born 1989

Om El Shaina was *Estopa's second to last foal. Her sire is the British bred World Champion and Spanish National Champion Stallion *Carmargue who was on lease to Om El Arab for two years. Shaina is a mare of illuminating beauty and a perfect juxtaposition of her sire and dam. She can in one moment look so much like her mother, with the same ethereal presence and in the next moment be her fathers daughter. Shaina has an enchanting face and big, black liquid eyes, to be in her presence can be mesmerizing.  She has created a world wide dynasty with her incredible family, not only through her extraordinary daughters but also through her magnificent sons. Shaina is the dam of our head sire Om El Shahmaan.

Om El Shaina was featured in Arabian Horse World 2011 Dams of Distinction Profile:

Om El Shaina:

We have many beautiful mares at Om El Arab International that we could write about for this profile but this year we wanted to showcase one particularly special lady.  Her name is Om El Shaina.  She was born in 1989 and is by the World Champion stallion *Carmargue and out of the “Century Mare” *Estopa.  Her pedigree alone is one that dreams are made of and her ethereal beauty-her big black eyes, her splendor and her presence, have inspired many of the hundreds of visitors that come to see her at Om El Arab each year.  However her true magnificence is not only her beauty it lies in the accomplishments of her foals.  They are the reason why Om El Shaina will be remembered forever.

Om El Shaina’s most famous son hardly needs an introduction. His name is Om El Shahmaan by *Sanadik El Shaklan.  Om El Shahmaan has many show wins to his credit and is the sire of foals that have won all over the world.  Most recently his son Om El Bellissimo is spending two breeding seasons at the world famous Polish State Stud, Janow Podlaski safeguarding Om El Shaina’s name in future Polish pedigrees.

Om El Bint Shaina by *Sharem El Sheikh is Om El Shaina’s oldest daughter.  Her offspring include horses like multi-champion stallion Om El Extreem and Om El Exquisit, the sire of champions and a breeding stallion at Om El Arab.  Bint Shaina is the dam of champion mare, Om El Exotica who lives in Sharjah and of champion mare, Om El Enigma owned by Ajman Stud.  Her daughter Om El Excella by Al Lahab resides at Om El Arab and was named World Cup Bronze Junior Champion filly in 2010. The children and grandchildren of Bint Shaina span the globe providing a continuance of Om El Shaina’s blood for generations.

Om El Shadina, sired by *Sanadik El Shaklan is Om El Shaina’s second eldest daughter.  She is also a mutli-champion mare and multi-champion producer.  Her daughter Om El Shadream owned by Silver Maple Farms was named US National Champion Mare AOTH and Scottsdale Champion Mare AOTH among many other titles.  Shadina’s son Om El Shah Dream was a South African National Champion Stallion.  Her son Savio, owned by Al Mohamediah Stud, has won all over the Middle East and Europe.  Shadina calls Al Khalediah in Saudi Arabia her home.   Her travels and that of her progeny around the world make us and Om El Shaina proud.

Two full siblings, Om El Shaheen and Om El Shahgall, by *Sanadik El Shaklan, call the United Kingdom home.  Shaheen owned by Silverdale Stud is an International Champion.  Om El Shahgall is owned by Judith Powell and has won all four riding competitions that he was shown in this year.

Another Om El Shaina daughter, Om El Shadiva by *Sanadik El Shaklan lives with us at Om El Arab.  She has spent her life having one precious foal after another.  She has offspring in England, Morocco, Qatar and the United States.  Om El Shadeeka is Shadiva’s younger full sister and is also owned by us.  We have exported her colts to Australia and to Germany.  Her two incredible daughters by GR Shawan and Alfabia Ajib are here at Om El Arab.

Om El Shalimar, also sired by *Sanadik El Shaklan is the youngest breeding stallion to join the ranks at Om El Arab.  He is pictured in the photograph for this profile.  Shalimar bred several mares at Om El Arab and for clients, including the *Estopa daughter, Om El Beneera.  His incredible type wows everyone who sees him.

Om El Shahzaar is the last foal born of the incredible pairing of Om El Shaina with *Sanadik El Shaklan.  He was exported to the Meslemani family of Qatar this year.  We wish them much joy with their beautiful stallion.

Om El Shaina had to find a new mate after *Sanadik El Shaklan’s death in 2008.  We decided to breed her twice to a very lucky young colt named Om El Al Azeem.  He is by World Champion Al Lahab and out of our youngest *Estopa daughter Om El Beneera.  Al Azeem has since that decision been crowned US Reserve National Champion Junior Stallion but at the time he was an unproven two-year old colt.  We were blessed with Om El Aliha, who we will keep in our broodmare band and the pretty yearling colt, Om El Shazeem.

Om El Shaina is 22 years old this year.  She absorbed her pregnancy last winter and we decided to do some embryo transfers with her this season.  At the time of this writing we have just flushed an embryo with Om El Exquisit and Om El Shaina.  We hope to add another chapter to Om El Shaina’s incredible tale.
